Mise-en-scene

Mise-en-scene:

Mise-en-scene is important to any movie to make it believable and to make it feel real to the audience. Firstly the costume in which all of the actors wear are all made to suit the environment for example in a action film the main actors in it normally start off smart an clean but by the end of the film there clothes are ripped and dirty with dust and mud on their faces.

Next the props on set are always there for a purpose, which are there for making the scene more believable for the audience to watch. Normally the main characters use the props and sometimes the audience can relate to the props and actors. For example Doctor Who is related to one of his props the ‘sonic screwdriver’.

Makeup is also a big part mise-en-scene, which can determine if the thriller is believable to the audience members. Mise-en scene is used to represent all of the charterers in the film.

In the opening of a James Bond film ‘Sky fall’, the shot you see of Daniel Craig (the lead actor) is when he is wearing a suit this could show that his is rich and that he could be hiding something more important. Also the shot of him is that he is in water, which could mean that he his action as he also has a gun in his hand. Guns show the power and the level of authority people have, this prop is effective here as it shows James Bond having authority.

In the next screen shot the shot shows James Bond shooting, this is a cleaver shot as it shoot his gun once again and his suit but the way the it has been done is recordings of his shadow have been done 4 times to show what his does in desperate situations.
