 Looking at screen shots for a thriller

 

In this screenshot the vast background makes the thrill and excitement seem real. The helicopter which is us military makes the audience think that the something big is about to happen. The dust behind the car lets the audience know that they are going fast.

 

 

This shot shows the blurred background with police in. This could tell us that the main actor is not thinking straight or he has just done something bad. They have used the rule of thirds to make sure actor is at the centre of the shot with few background props.

 

This shot shows a street race just about to start. The type of shot is a rule of thirds to make sure that they can get all of the cars in. this is a stereo typical shot because it is night time and they are just about to have a race 9 under the protection of darkness.

 

 

This shot uses the golden mean. It does that so then you can get a sense of the large scale environments. 

 

Analysed screenshots

The title sequence that I have analysed is Iron Man Three. 

The first screenshot shows the iron man’s new costume. This is a mid-shot that shows the detail in the outfit and they have blurred the background to make the costume stand out. The editing in the first 10 seconds is very fast paced that symbolises that it is an action film. The film is also in comic strip form because it was a comic book, it switches between stills and real action from the film. The red and the gold on the outfit are colours that young children know and like. This is why they are on the suit. 

In the second screenshot iron man has been shown as a normal person. He is unless he is inside the suit, this film was taken from the previous film which makes an effective opening because it is flashing back on what he used to be and to what he is now. The colour is red because it has been put in another film and all footage taken from other films are red.

In the third screenshot it shows iron man as being a funny person, this makes out that the film could be about comedy as well as action. It is effective to the genre of the film because it could show that he knows a lot and is relaxed. People would want to aspire to be like him. As it is mainly all close ups it the first sequence the film makes out that it gives off a sense of mystery not knowing what fits around the shot this suits the genre.

 

The production company that made Iron man three is Walt Disney, (marvel Studios) they started in 1993 and they have made many famous films that used to be comics. The reason why they get such a large audience is because they make old famous comics into actual films. The other films that the company have produced is/are the Hulk, X men and Spider man. Those are all films that used to be comics. I think that Marvel studios is a good company for my thriller because they make large comic style films come true. At the start of my thriller production there will be a comic feel on a board when presenting everybody’s name.   

The next title sequence that I have analysed is Zombie land this is a slow-motion filmed opening sequence which makes a different conventions
